Methuselah (メトシェラ, Metosera), also known under the alias of Ludwig van Rosenkranz (ルートヴィヒ・ヴァン・ローゼンクランツ, Rūtovu~ihi vu~an rōzenkurantsu), is the God of Darkness, byproduct of the Law of Mercurius.
It may be given many names, though all of which are simply attributed to him, for in truth it has neither name nor body. Thus is nameless and genderless.
He is able to use all the Nights that make up his being in order to create an absolute defence that can resist even the hits of Wolfgang Schreiber without so much as a scratch.[1]
Jaws of Darkness[]
Engulfs his surroundings with darkness filled with countless jaws. These eat at and hold trapped anyone within the abyss. This could even be triggered by the shadows of his enemies.
Can form darkness into stakes to impale his enemies. Somewhat akin to Wilhelm .
Yin and Yang Collapse[]
All darkness that he passes by follows him, regardless of the light. This could create voids where neither light nor darkness exist.
Pressure of Darkness[]
A passive ability, caused by the recurrence of the mystery of night within his being. Taking advantage of the primal fear of darkness, shattering the mind of any normal person who gazes upon his visage.
Gloria Virtutem Tamquam Umbra Sequitur[]
A Passive ability, able to absorb and reflect any attack fired at it.
Nihili Est Qui Nihili Amat[]
(Nothing is that which Nothing Loves) Encases the target in a sphere of hundred of thousands of condensed nights. Which each must be broken to escape, though time is short. For the sphere compresses as time moves forth. Threatening to kill whoever was unfortunate enough to get trapped in it.
Nihili Difficile Amanti []
(Nothing is Difficult for a Lover) He becomes able to speed up time around him, to any degree that he desires. Reducing everything, even souls, to dust. For in a mere second a billion years could pass.
Fortes Fortuna Adjuvat. Magna Voluisse Magnum
(Fortune Favors the Strong. Great Ones Have Wished for Greatness) Methuselah manipulates the shadows to darken the skies as far as the eyes can see, where he then sends it crashing down on whatever it hits, with the mere activation boasting enough power to sink an entire continent. This attack of his however incomplete and was interrupted by Wilhelm.
Trivia[]
He is named after מְתוּשֶׁלַח (Məṯūšélaḥ) , an Old Testament figure whose name roughly translates to "Man of the Javelin", or "Death of Sword".
His name became synonymous with longevity. For he is the longest lived biblical figure, living to 969 Years of Age. The only connection I can find between him and the God of Darkness is their longevity.
