Throughout the Second World War many Polish sodliers were captured by the Soviets, expecially during the Soviet Invasion of Poland on the 17th of September, 1939.
In 1940, many of these prisoners of war, both soldiers and civilians alike. Were brought to Kalinin, Kharkiv, and Katyn for the purposes of mass execution.
On the 3rd of April, 1940, upwards of 22,000 Polish prisoners were executed. This event came to be known as the Katyn Massacre or zbrodnia katyńska (Eng: Katyn Crime)
An anomaly began to influence Katyn Forest, the death throes of the fading archane.
