Kaikhosru (カイホスルー, Kaihosurū), also known as the Covetous Dragon (貪婪餓龍, Donran ga ryū) is One of the Seven Great Deamon Kings of the First Heaven .
He is the incarnation of the Malignancy of Infatuation (痴情, Chiji~you) [1]
Personality[]
"Pray, wish, extol your miracles. I'm the one who decides how long you live"
He is extremely avaricious and hates waste. As such he finds more meaning in exploitation rather than in pure slaughter. For he see's killing people as wasting their existences, and the labour could endure in order to benefit his desires.
He desires to own all things, to bring all under his authority. For his avarice is insatiable. He always desires more, even desiring Mithra herself.
Thus he does not kill in large numbers like his brethren, but rather chooses to rule over them like a Tyrant. Sparing his possessions from destruction out of his own avarice and desire.
He is short tempered and quick to drive to murderous rage, especially to those that insult or disrespect his Mistresses.
He wishes for a world without death or decay, where all are free to do what they will, able to engage in worldly pleasures without limit. For without death, people would have to fear to indulge in their desires. A world without law, all life unbound by the shackles of good and evil.
He acknowledges this would be a world of bloodshed and lawlessness, but still preaches it as a world without limited opportunities. Unlimited possibilities in life birthed from the removal of death and inhibitions.
This is Kaikhosru's ideal world.
He loves women so deeply and with such passion not solely out of lust, but because he evaluates women as being far stronger than men. For they have "hard to find parts", they are able to exist by containing contradictions, and to him, they, unlike men, do not break under these contradictions, but resign themselves to them and live brilliantly.
Thus, in a world of Contradictions, he believes God to be a woman, and all women throughout the world to be alter-egos of the God he desired.
Despite hating his Commandment, and having the ability to break it and survive due to his Hadou nature, he also refuses to do so. As he hates the idea of being forced to choose between paying and not paying. As if he chooses to do nothing, he would be forced to accept equivalent exchange, but if he opposes his Commandment, he would be in direct opposition to Shinga.
His Immutability is that of Desire (欲望, Yokubō)
Abilities[]
He became a Star Spirit after killing Zahnak, though is not a pure Spirit, but is by no means inferior to the real deal. [2] He has Eighteen Princesses, who act as his mistresses, that work under him, which are each equal to, or stronger than, the Three Commanders.
He can take the form of a massive dragon clad in gemstones large enough to coil around an entire planet, and in this form he is capable of letting loose millions of beams of light from his scales, each individual beam possessing enough power to destroy entire stars.
As one of the Dragvant, he has the ability to impose his will upon the World, shaping it to its whim through the Power of Ego; and, as a Demon King, his Power of Ego is extraordinarily potent.
Even before emanating, his power is described as divine and as the power of a God, Masada also ranked him equal to Nadare who is a pseudo Gudou God.
Dragon's Roar[]
This is his Authority, and through it he is capable of transmuting any beings on its surface into gemstones or precious metals, this can be ennacted across anywhere on Zahhak's surface, and it cannot be resisted by any being relying upon the "Dragon Energy" (earth, atmosphere, water, etc) of Kaikhosru. [3]
He is not capable of using this to its fullest extent in the New Continent. As it is mot considered to be wholly Zahhak or wholly Wahman Yasht, thus neither Authority can take hold or be actualized.
It can however be used against an individual target if he is directing facing them. As shown by what he did to Touran.
Commandment: Azhi Dahaka[]
Main article: Azhi Dahaka
In exchange for the binding of "Expenditure of one's treasures without regret", he gets "Obtaining a return that corresponds to said expenditure" as a boon. The cultivation of great power through the expenditure of ones resources, be it food and material, his own subjects and subordinates, or his very own flesh and blood. [4]
Through this he would gain something in return for that which he gave up, even able to take the powers and abilities of the foes that he faces.
This is not a Commandment that be choose for himself, but is simply a mutation of the Authority of the Star Dragon of which he plundered. And, in a sense, is the very antithesis of his ideal, that being "To obtain everything while not giving up anything"
Hadou Nature[]
Kaikhosru has a Hadou-Type Craving, and is a candidate for becoming a Hadou God. Although he was never able to reach this potential, he did begin to Emanate right before his death. Though we were unable to see the effects brought about by this Emanation.
This Hadou-Nature also left him knowledgeable about the nature of the world and the God that watches over everything, and is able to act unhindered by the laws of Avesta.
Trivia[]
He is named after a Legendary King of Zoroastrian Lore, King Kaikhosru.
The term translated as Infatuation, 痴情, literally means "being struck mad by love; foolish passion; blind love; infatuation; jealousy"[5]
