Holy Relics (聖遺物, Seiibutsu) also known as Ahnenerbe, are objects that through a long history of death and bloodshed ascended past the point of common sense, and gain special properties.

Through Magic one can bind themselves to a Relic, Granting themselves great power. When done through Die Ewigkeit ones Relic would be able to manifest upon reaching the Yetzirah Degree.

Nature[]

All Holy Relics have extensive history, typically one soaked in misery and bloodshed that causes the item to be imbued with the Energy found in the Souls of the dead. Due to this they typically emmanate an aura that can induce discomfort in normal people, despite them seemingly being ordinary object.

It is through this aura that those more sensitive to supernatural energies and latent Mystery can tell which objects classify as Holy Relics.

Connection[]

Ewigkeit[]

Main article: Ewigkeit

The Ewigkeit allows one to assimilate with, and develop a mutual and symboic relationship with their Relic. Assimilating it with the Soul of the wielder. Making them fuse into a singular existance.  If a Relic is destroyed, the wielder would be killed, as it would lead in turn to the eradication of the soul it was bound to.

As they were given power by the Souls of the deceased, they too must feed off of Souls in order to retain their power and their strength. Thus requiring the wielder to constantly search out people to kill and siphon the essence of.

This is the most often depicted Relic in Dies Irae, as it is possessed by all members of the Longinus Dreizehn Orden.

Witch[]

Though the Ewigkeit is not the only way in which one can form a connection with a Holy Relic. For the way that Witchs accomplish such a feat is different than that of the Ewigkeit, for where Ewigkeit connects one to their Relic through their Soul. The Witch's Formula forms a physical connection between the two. Thus, if their Wielder perishes, their Relic will begin to rot away like human flesh. [1]

Powers and Abilities[]

Wounds from a Holy Relic are difficult, if not impossible, to heal from. Even when taking into consideration the Healing Factor they bestow.[2]

They do not require that their target be physical, for they could even attack Souls without a body.[3]

Types[]

Holy Relics are seperated into various different types depending on their effects or the way that they operate.

Ahnenerbe Fusion Type:[]

A Holy Relic that fuses with the user, making themselves a part of their body. This typically leads the user into a hieghtened sense of exitement. Due to this, many users of this type of Relic tend to be savage, with an approch to combat based soley upon offence, with little regards to their own well-being.

Even the Relics themselves tend to be more on the savage side, such as Wilhelm using bloody stakes to impale and tear apart his opponents.

Examples:[]

Margurite-Bois de Justice (Ren Fuji)

Qlipoth Bacikal  (Wilhelm Ehrenburg )

Lyngvi Vánagandr (Wolfgang Schrieber)

Warsaw Ghetto (Rot Spinne)

Armament Materialization Type:[]

The Manifestation of a Weapon, though this is not restricted to just Armaments, but includes all forms of weaponry, including objects such as Tanks.

This is an over-all very balanced Relic type, with no real strengths or weaknesses when compared to other types.

Examples: []

Longinuslanze Testament (Reinhard Heydrich)

Wewelsburg Longinus (Kai Sakurai)

Thrud Walkure (Beatrice Kircheisen)

Der Freischutz Samiel  (Eleonore von Wittenburg)

Scharlachrot (Kei Sakurai)

Phenomenon Expansion Type:[]

Typically more focused upon support or defense, these Relics tend to control objects or ideas, and tend to be far more magical in nature, as opposed to the very concrete nature of Fusion and Materialization.

Due to this the users tend to be calmer and more scholarly, taking a strategic approch to battle. Sabotouging their opponents, or assiting their allies, as well as they can.

Examples:[]

Palida Mors (Liza Brenner)

Elizabeth Bathory (Rusulka Schwagerin)

Special Manifestation Type:[]

The Misc. Grouping, with no real traits held in common among users. The known forms of Special Manifestation all exist as Relics that exist not as a part of one's body, but as one's body itself.

Examples:[]

Helige Eohl (Valerian Trifa)

Deus ex Machina (Michael Wittmann)

Zarathustra Übermensch (Mercurius)
