Distortions (歪み, Kugami) are a Phenomenon that appears in Kamiji Kamui Kagura which grants those stricken with it with incredible powers, though always at a great cost.

Nature[]

Distortion is outside of the World's Reason, free from the boundries of its Law. They are Remnant of the Old World, things that should be impossible by the common sense of the Sixth Heaven.

This allows one to practice supernatural abilities that cannot be explained by any natural laws, existing outside of reason, the personification of Impossible made Possible.

According to Soujirou, Distortion may be accompanied by shaking hands, mist in the eyes and nausea at such a level that you're practically vomiting up their own entrails. Thus they grant one power in return for significant negative effects upon their body.

They were all borne of the Mother of Distortions, Tenma Numahime, who brought her Magic to Shinshuu.

Types[]

肆 (1-4)-[]

A type of distortion that has no specific negative effect. People with this type generally do not use it unless necessary, and have some control over it, although it is often used as a point of discrimination, as it is normal for ordinary and even powerful people to fear the abnormality present in the world we know, not matter the era. This is the most common type of distortion, along with the weakest form of distortion.

漆 (5-7) -[]

A more dangerous and destructive variant of distortion, deforming the environment, staging impossible phenomena. A rejection of the common sense pillar of humanity. These are much more powerful and much more feared.

~拾 (8-10) []

An uncontrollable variant of Distortion, with unmanageable elements and effects. As these are exceptionally rare, the only known example of this type of Distortion is that of Sakuya Kyougetsu.

Examples[]

  • Sakuya Kyougetsu: Walking Bomb (歩く爆弾) [ 拾 (10) Type ]
  • Keishiro Kyougetsu:  [ 陸 (6) Type ]
