Belial (ベリアル, Beriaru), also known as Nacht (ナハト, Nahato), or Lord of Vice (罪悪の王, Zaiaku no ō) is a Deamon possessing Lyle. He embodies the Sin of Worthlessness.
Personality[]
He is cruel and sadistic, taking pleasure in massacuring countless individuals. His first introduction being his massacure of twelve people.
Abilities[]
As both a Demon and a direct manifestation of Muzan's Law he is granted many abilities, able to pull upon the Sin that swirls around in the Abyss. As a form of Quintessence this is able to ennact impossible phenomena.
He acts like a Gate directly to the Abyss, thus can pull upon an infinite supply of Sin.
Demons cannot be truly hurt by anything apart from Quintessence itself, making them nigh-indestructable calamities, Even when his body is broken he can regenerate, no matter the injury, even regenerating from countless shotgun blasts to the face.
Though when he is in the Abyss he is a higher-dimensional entity of supreme power, his strength comprable to that of Gods. He is completely incapable of being killed in this form unless by a entity of equal or greater power. Though he is not able to effect the world due to his abstract nature, and must take over the body of a Host. Somewhat like a Throne God only being able to directly interact with the World through a Sensory.
He have a spiritual mass of 370 million.
Megiddo of Belial[]
Main article: Flames of Worthlessness
The Flames of Worthlessness (無価値の炎, Mukachi no hono'o) also known as the Megiddo of Belial (メギド・オブ・ベリアル, Megido Obu beriaru), is an ability possessed by Belial, taking the form of black wings formed from flames that sprout from his back. Their movement can produce powerful shockwaves that distort the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the flames possess the property of being able to “destroy anything”, annihilating material objects, destroying the soul, and even wiping out Quintessence, a higher dimensional energy sourced from Muzan himself.
Because of its ability to even interfere with higher dimensions, it can kill Angels who normally can’t be killed due to their connection to Heaven (only abilities that can interfere with higher dimensions are able to kill them).
He is capable of erasing any wounds he may have sustained in battle, and shrouding himself in said flames to make conventional attacks useless, making it act as offence, defense, and recovery all at once.
This sin is so powerful that Nerose himself is damaged everytime he uses it, bleeding black blood. This sin is so strong that Astaroth's Michael which killed Nerose(with the latter's consense), is useless against it.
Trivia[]
Belial (בְּלִיַעַל, Bəlīyaʿal) is a term appearing in the Hebrew Bible, which in later texts became personified as the Devil. As a term it is "used to characterize the wicked or worthless.", commonly believed to be derived from beli- (בְּלִי "without-") and ya'al ( יָעַל "to be of value").
""Belial" is applied to ideas, words, and counsel,[9] to calamitous circumstances,[10] and most frequently, to worthless men of the lowest sort, such as men who would induce worship of other gods;[11] those of Benjamin who committed the sex crime at Gibeah;[12] the wicked sons of Eli;[13] insolent Nabal;[14] opposers of God’s anointed, David;[15] Rehoboam's unsteady associates;[16] Jezebel's conspirators against Naboth;[17] and men in general who stir up contention.[18] Indicating that the enemy power would no longer interfere with the carrying out of true worship by his people in their land, YHWH declared through his prophet: "No more will any worthless person pass again through you. In his entirety he will certainly be cut off."
In the Ars Goetia he is ranked as a Demon King, and placed as the 68th Deamon.
